On August 27, 2010 Detectives from the Special Investigations Division conducted a highway interdiction operation at the weigh station scales in Islamorada. Participating in the operation was the Traffic Enforcement Division, troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol and there K-9 Unit, The Department of Transportation, Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, The Mobile Enforcement Team, The Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Coast Guard Investigative Service, Monroe County HIDTA, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation.

May 13th 2010 - K9- Officer Ferro - On the night of February 6, 2010, K-9 Officer Ferro and Officer Anglin responded to 809  Fleming Street, regarding a burglary in progress.  upon arrival, Officers heard a loud crash and believed the suspect entered the residence.  K-9 Ferro, Officer Anglin and Sergeant Blasberg ran to the rear of the property and confronted by the suspect.  Officer Anglin and Sergeant Blasberg gave the subject loud repetitive verbal commands to stop and get on the ground.  Read more...

Search Warrant Served May 13th 2010 - results in drug arrests Stock Island - Detectives from the Sheriff's Special Investigations Division served a search warrant today on Stock Island, arresting three people on drug charges.  The Special Investigations K-9 Deja-Vu Canine Extreme located all the narcotics in the residence.
