I just wanted to check in with you about Fritz. I have to say, I couldn't be happier with my new puppy. He is a true trooper. Basically, I got him from the airport and he immediately became part of our family. You wouldn't even know Fritz had just flown for 8 hours. He has been absolutely perfect. Within the first 24 hours he completely attached himself to me. I have been very pleased with his walking abilities, his crate training, and being able to do some simple things like sit, and play fetch and return. He has done a few things that are very funny. He loves to pick up his food and water bowls and bring them to me as soon as he finishes eating or the bowl becomes empty. Earlier today, he drank all the water in his bowl, picked the bowl up, ran across the room and into my bathroom, and dropped the bowl at the sink I had been filling his water bowl up with. His intelligence level amazes me.
I was wondering if you could tell me some of the things you have worked with him on so that I can begin there with my training. I can tell he will easily learn new things and I don't want to fall behind on challenging him to be the best German Shepherd possible. Also, if you could maybe refer me to a training book or resource that would tell me the best method of training to use.
